Fantasy Football: Gameday Decision Week 10

Week 10 is upon us, so let’s see who has good matchups this week in fantasy football.

Arizona Cardinals, Cleveland Browns, Green Bay Packers, Washington Redskins

PLAY these Quarterbacks

Ryan Tannehill (v Titans 6.00pm Sunday) Tannehill isn’t a fantasy starter, even in deep leagues, but if ever there was a good week to play him then here’s your best shot. I’m thinking of Rodgers and Robert Griffin owners here. So plug him into your lineup if you own him. He isn’t better than your standard starters but he should get over 12 points fairly comfortably.

Ben Roethlisberger (v Chiefs 1.30am Tuesday) A good matchup against the Chiefs who have allowed 17 touchdowns and 1870 yards from just 131 completions. QBs don’t even need to sling it that much to score points against them and Ben does like to throw it. Play him this week with no concerns.

BENCH these Quarterbacks:

Matt Schaub (@Bears 1.20am Monday) Schaub will likely struggle in Sunday Night Football this week, the Bears are causing havoc against both rushers and passers and have got 17 picks (tied most) so far this year.

Carson Palmer (@Ravens 6.00pm Sunday) I have a lot of time for Palmer but I can’t see him doing much this week. I would imagine over 300 yards but 2-3 interceptions at least. There are better options out there this week if you’re a Palmer owner.

PLAY these Running Backs:

Michael Turner (@Saints 6.00pm Sunday) Saints continue to allow yards for fun, and Turner should run riot over them on Sunday. Jacquizz Rodgers is also a nice starter.

Stevan Ridley (v Bills 6.00pm Sunday) The Bills are as bad as the Saints, Tiki Barber could probably get 100 yards rushing against them. Stevan Ridley is going up against them this week and while he doesn’t get a lot of rushing attempts he should make a lot out of them this week, Ridley is a RB1 in all leagues this week.

Rashad Jennings (v Colts 1.20am Friday) Colts are another team porous to the run, and MJD’s replacement should run amok. A great bye week filler, and a top end RB2 in all leagues.

BENCH these Running Backs:

Steven Jackson (@49ers 9.25pm Sunday) Probably the best run defence in the business. I don’t fancy anybody against the 49ers front 7. Stay clear if at all possible.

Shonn Greene (@Seahawks 9.05pm Sunday) Greene is pretty unspectacular as a running back, and the Seahawks give you very little on the ground and have shut out some good running backs this year – I can’t see Greene getting much more than 50-60 yards, even if he carries the ball 20-25 times.

PLAY these Wide Receivers:

Michael Floyd/Robert Meachem (@Buccaneers 6.00pm Sunday) Bucs are one of the worst in the league at stopping WRs from having big days. Floyd should take advantage this week, and of course Rivers will benefit a little as well. Look for Meachem on the waiver wire if you’re struggling to complete your lineup.

Kenny Britt (v Dolphins 6.00pm Sunday) Britt still hasn’t really come to life like we knoe he can since his injury last year and this preseason. However he has a great chance to explode on the Dolphins this week. Kendall Wright is a good deep sleeper this week also.

BENCH these Wide Receivers:

Sidney Rice (v Jets 9.05pm Sunday) The Jets somehow allow the least points (15.21) to opposing fantasy WRs despite losing Revis for the season and employing Running Back Joe McKnight as an emergency cornerback. Sidney Rice (‘Condolezza’s little boy’ as Nick Halling will tell you) will probably have a rough night against the Jets this Sunday and you should bench him in 12 team leagues at least.

START these Tight Ends:

Scott Chandler (@Patriots 6.00pm Sunday) Patriots allow yardage to all opposing receivers, and have allowed over 500 yards and 5 scores to Tight Ends. This makes Scott Chandler a sensible start this week.

BENCH these Tight Ends

Brent Celek (v Cowboys 4.25pm Sunday) I was really high on Celek this year but he has been disappointing at best. This probably won’t change against the Cowboys who have allowed 299 yards and just 3 scores to Tight Ends. Don’t play Celek this week.

Dallas Cowboys (@Eagles 4.25pm Sunday) The Eagles just turn the ball over way too much, and their O-line is crippled by injury. I can see Vick going down at least 8 times this week, especially if Todd Herremans is out. Dallas are a nice bye week fit this week.
